On Azure Marketplace, AutoMQ provides BYOC subscription licenses through a SaaS offer as the purchasing and billing channel, while the AutoMQ BYOC control plane and data plane are deployed in your own VPC. AutoMQ uses AKU (AutoMQ Kafka Unit) to define cluster size and capacity, with monthly or annual billing options. A subscription must be purchased before clusters can be created and used. For details on AKU definition and calculation, refer to Billing Instructions for BYOC▸.
If you have any questions about billing, feel free to contact us for assistance.

Purchase Steps

Step 1: Verify Azure Account Permissions

Sign in to your Azure account and ensure the current account has management permissions for the associated Billing Profile (e.g., Admin or Owner role). For details on Billing Profile roles and permissions, refer to the Azure documentation.

Step 2: Locate AutoMQ on Azure Marketplace

Search for “AutoMQ” in Azure Marketplace, or go directly to the AutoMQ BYOC subscription product page.

Step 3: Create a Subscription

Click the subscribe button and fill in the following information to confirm the subscription:
  • Resource Group: Select the resource group for the subscription. It is recommended to use the same resource group as your AutoMQ Console and related resources for easier management.
  • Subscription Name: Use a name that corresponds to your business unit for easy identification.
  • Auto-Renewal: Recommended to enable, to avoid service disruption when the subscription expires.

Step 4: Set Up Product Account

After the subscription is created, follow the on-screen instructions to click Set up product account to complete information synchronization and activation.

Step 5: Contact AutoMQ to Complete Activation

Once the above steps are complete, contact the AutoMQ technical support team to obtain an updated subscription license and finalize the activation process.
